The Grand Canyon

Located in the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood at 54 Simcha Golan St, it is the largest shopping mall in northern Israel and has numerous exclusive stores, brand stores like Billabong, Nike and Crocs, boutiques, shoe shops, a supermarket and other specialized stores: luggage, lingerie, sport shops and jewelers

One-stop shopping at the largest mall in Haifa with a huge store variety - more than 150 shops.  Plenty of free covered, parking.  A great indoor playground for children – supervised and completely safe to leave the kids while you do your shopping.  They also do birthday parties. Lots of home-made- food stalls on Thursdays and Fridays.  All your office supplies, back-to-school items, computers and accessories. A gym and a Maccabi Health Fund Clinic, the Mashbir Department store offering high quality merchandise. All of this comes with air conditioned comfort – a real joy on boiling hot summer days.

  • Bus  numbers 28, 23,  24, 16, 15, 5 and 216.
  • Parking entrances on Simcha Golan Street and off Ruppin Rd. – free covered parking
  • By sherut – last stop on line no. 28 – but it takes more than an hour.

Top Tips

  • For a quiet, unhurried shopping experience go in the morning. The busiest times are from 16:00 onwards when everyone gets off work.  
  • Take note of your parking level, zone color and spot number - take a photograph with your mobile phone of the level and parking bay number. 
  • Pre-arrange with your kids that if you get separated from your kids  they should meet you back at the car so make a habit of parking in the same general location.
  • There is an ATM machine alongside the escalators at Level 1 parking

The Castra Mall

Located at the southern entrance to Haifa next to the Haifa Mall and opposite the Convention Center.   It has a unique architectural design around a central dome.  The aim of the center is to combine art, entertainment and shopping. Castra offers you an eclectic range of stores.

An excellent selection of interior decorating shops and galleries.  Art, paintings and sculptures are on permanent exhibition.  The dome shaped roof of Casta is decorated with the largest tile mural in the world and is based on Old Testament themes.  The Castra Museum exhibits a myriad of Byzantine jewelry, lamps, sarcophagi and other findings from the ancient city of Castra.  These items were uncovered during municipal excavations.  The Biblical Doll Museum  is a permanent exhibition at the Castra Mall - each of the 1000 dolls and all the scenery are hand made.  The dolls are incorporated into complete scenes from the Bible, arranged in chronological order.  Creative art and craft workshops for adults and children are popular during school vacation time. Entrance to the museum is free.

  • By car, on Flieman St. (a continuation of Freud) - free parking is available.
  • Bus numbers:  3, 113, 114, 115, 125, 133 stop at the center. 
  • Castra is a 10 minute walk from the central bus station and from the train station at Hof HaCarmel.

kenyon haifa azrielli

Azrielli-Haifa Mall - Kenyon Haifa

Located at the southern entrance to Haifa opposite MATAM next to the Castra Mall and opposite the Convention Center. The mall has a large selection of stores with reasonably priced and affordable merchandise, 20 restaurants, 40 fashion stores, supermarket, hardware and a few outlet stores.  There is a bowling alley on the top level -a favorite for children's birthday parties. Close to the go-karting track and opposite is a wall-climbing club.

 Getting there:

  • By car, on Flieman St. (a continuation of Freud) – plenty of free parking is available – covered and uncovered
  • Bus numbers:  3, 113, 114, 115, 125, 133 stop at the center.
  • By sherut from Shapira St. in the Hadar that go to Tirat HaCarmel
  • Canyon Haifa is a 10 minute walk from the Hof Hacarmel bus and train station.

Lev Hamifratz / Cinemall

The Cinemall (also Lev HaMifratz)

Located at the Check-post at the northern entrance to Haifa, this is the entertainment center of the north. After undergoing substantial renovations the mall changed its name from Lev HaMifratz to the Cinemall. With Its bright orange exterior, you can’t miss it.  From beers and burgers, perfume and pancakes, you can get it all at the Cinemall. Clothing and shoes for the whole family, great gift stores, electronics, top of the range as well as discounted cosmetics, stationery and office supplies.  Do the eye test and get your Tofes Yarok for your learner's license at the optician.

Best reasons for going

  • Next to the “Merkazit HaMifratz” bus and train stations
  • 23 cinemas, a selection of pubs and many restaurants
  • The Maccabi Health Fund Assuta Medical Center

Getting there

  • 55 Ha Histadrut Avenue, Mifratz Haifa, it can be reached by all buses going to the Merkazit HaMifratz bus station and all trains going north to Nahariya.
  • By car - Highway 4 in a northerly direction
  • By sherut from Herzel street in the Hadar - on the Krayot, Akko, Nahariya route

The Horev Center

Merkaz Horev is located in the Ahuzza neighborhood.  For a quiet, suburban shopping experience, the center has 3 levels of shops, cinemas, banks, an optometrist and a good supermarket (with delivery services).  There is also a large branch of the Maccabi Health Fund, Maccabident (dental clinic) and the Haifa branch of the Herzliyah Private Medical Center.

2015 saw the commencement of major renovations at the shopping mall so be prepared for some slight inconveniences

 Getting there

  • By car - with limited covered parking, the parking garage is on Hantke Street and is accessed via Pica and Hadassa streets. There is also an informal open parking area on Hadassa Street – first come first serve.  Some pay street parking on Hantke.
  • By Bus: 23, 24, 22, 28, 37, 123, 125, 133
  • By sherut: From the Hadar - route no 28 to Neve Shaanan and route no. 37 to the university

The City Center Mall (Citymall)

You'll find Haifa's City Center Mall on Ben Gurion Blvd, in the heart of the German Colony, adjacent to the port . Many up-market stores have outlet stores in this shopping mall where you can find some really good bargains.  It's a quiet mall mainly catering to the needs of the working population in the area.  There is a branch of the Superpharm, a dental x-ray clinic and other professional offices.

The Mall's stone facade blends in perfectly with the architecture of the neighborhood. The German Colony has many fine restaurants, pubs, night-life and original historical buildings from the time of the Templars.

Buy and enjoy a frozen yogurt with lots of different toppings, in the mall,  before you head off to Eizen's, Haifa's most talked about butchery just a few hundred meters up the road.

  • By Bus:  28, 37, 12 or any bus going to the Old Central Bus Station (Egged) near the Rambam Hospital
